Oh my god you are breaking my immersion | Interdiscplinary Comicbook Reading
The past two years I’ve been organizing and participating in an interdisciplinary comic reading series called “Oh my god, you are breaking my immersion”. Each year I chose a topic which I find to be very persistent in the current aesthetic Zeitgeist. The first year it was virtual spaces, 2026 it was “neo-romanticism”. Each time me and three other illustartors read a comic they made, often work in progress, which deals with a part of that topic. Not only are they put on a stage, their work is accompanied by live music, with a stagedesign and lighting. My goal is to put comic right next to theater and music as an art form, to exist on the same level. Each time we also feature parts of a scenic play or a musician. And: Our venues are always cinemas, THE place of immersion.
Creative Direction/ Project Leader: Julia Plath
Co-Production: Julia Wazinski, Nerina Gärtner
Comic Readings: Charlotte Winkler, Jul Gordon, Lena Winkel, Julia Plath
Music: Lennard Clément
Theater Direction: Juno Peter
Actress: Seraphina Schweiger
